Efforts Made to Conserve and Propagate Marine Resources
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the fishery sector of the DPRK strive to conserve and propagate the marine resources.

Tens of millions of fry have been released this year, thanks to their energetic efforts.

The Jikha Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm introduced advanced fish-farming technique to raise the survival and weight-gaining rates of fry, thus stocking rivers with hundreds of thousands of young Pacific salmon.

The Komalsan Offshore Atlantic Salmon Farm produced 1.3 million fry, including young pollack and flatfish, by introducing advanced breeding methods.

The Yanghwa Fishery Station released 3.5 million fry in the sea.

Hongwon and Songdowon fishery stations, too, successfully settled sci-tech problems arising in the production of fry to raise a lot of young cod and flatfish.
