Number of Volunteers Grows in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- Dozens of young people in South Phyongan Province of the DPRK set the coordinates of their life in socialist rural areas, coal mines and other places.

Youths in Phyongsong City and Unsan and Hoechang counties of the province advanced into farms, out of their mind to turn the socialist countryside into land of youth.

Those in Tokchon and Kaechon cities and Pukchang County volunteered to work at coal mines.

A meeting of young volunteers took place at the South Phyongan Provincial Hall of Culture on Aug.24.

At the meeting attended by Jang Ki Chol, secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and young people, certificates of petition were awarded to the volunteers and then congratulatory speeches and pledges were made.

Officials and young people in the province gave bouquets to the volunteers and encouraged them.
