The Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea worked out and distributed a detailed outline for symposiums in the field of building-materials industry. It has paid deep attention to perfecting scientific and technological proposals and finding a way for expanding and introducing them in conformity with the reality.

A symposium with the main emphasis on developing and producing new finishing building materials with locally available raw and other materials was held at the Pyongyang Jonghyang Building Materials Factory to solve the sci-tech problems arising in the development of method of spreading colored mortar and of color paint.

Another symposium was held at the Unpha Mine. It discussed proposals conducive to the home production of tiles and the improvement of their quality.
