Meeting Held in Tokyo in Memory of Koreans Killed in Great Kanto Quake
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- A meeting on the centenary of the massacre of Koreans in the great Kanto quake took place at the Central Hall of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) in Tokyo on August 26.

Present there were Chairman Ho Jong Man, Vice-Chairman Nam Sung U, Vice-Chairman and Director of the General Affairs Department Pae Jin Gu, department directors and advisers of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, the director of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, chairpersons of the Chongryon Headquarters in the Kanto area, officials of branches, leading officials of central organizations and enterprises and teaching staff of Korean University.

The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of the Koreans who were mercilessly killed during the great Kanto quake.

Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman and director of the Organizational Department, made a report at the meeting.

The reporter said that he can hardly repress great national wrath and resentment on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the unpardonable massacre of Koreans in the great Kanto quake committed by the Japanese imperialists.

He noted that the Japanese government's massacre of Koreans in the great Kanto quake is, indeed, a premeditated and collective massacre of the Korean nation to which no statute of limitations is applicable even by international law.

What makes Koreans in Japan more enraged is the disgusting behavior of the Japanese authorities to keep the criminal history of massacre buried into oblivion, he pointed out.

He said that all the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan will more dynamically wage the struggle to inform the world of the truth behind the massacre of Koreans committed a century ago and to settle an account with the past history of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea.

Then followed speeches.

Prior to the meeting, there was a video show dealing with the history of the massacre of Koreans in the great Kanto quake.

A photo exhibition dealing with the 100th anniversary of the massacre of Koreans in the great Kanto quake took place on the same day.
