The Sohaeri Branch Mine has been built in the west coastal area of the country where magnetite is abundant. It has production and auxiliary buildings and equipped with facilities necessary for mining, dressing, etc.

The inauguration ceremony took place on the spot on Wednesday.

Present there were Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, Pak Yun Chol, secretary of the South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and employees of the mine.

Vice-Premier Yang Sung Ho made an inaugural address.

He said the branch mine is a precious fruition of the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who put forward the metal industry in the van of the advance for the development of the self-supporting economy of the country and steered it to increase iron and steel production and a crystal of loyalty of the workers of the Unryul Mine to the Party.

He called upon the officials and workers of the mine to remain loyal to the leadership of the Party with increased iron ore production and fully display the stamina of the heroic working class in the struggle for attaining the goal of steel production.
