The university, founded in September Juche 42 (1953), is associated with the wise leadership and loving care of the peerlessly great men who worked heart and soul for the education development in the province.

President Kim Il Sung saw to it that a regular teacher training institution was established in Jagang Province. And he personally visited the university on the way of field guidance and clearly showed the road for it to follow.

Chairman Kim Jong Il bestowed great favor on the university, providing lots of educational equipment and facilities so that it could satisfactorily fulfill its mission and duty.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who pays deep attention to building well the educational institutions and strengthening the teacher training, has energetically guided the work for renovating the educational condition and environment of the university.

A meeting for marking the 70th founding anniversary of the university took place on the spot on Sept. 3.
