President Kim Il Sung set forth the Juche-based government-building line and provided precious experience for its realization during the days of the anti-Japanese war. After the liberation of Korea, he laid the foundation for nation building and, on this basis, founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9, Juche 37 (1948).

With the birth of the DPRK, a new era of building a socialist state centered on the popular masses was opened on this land for the first time in history and a powerful political weapon for successfully accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche was provided.

Thanks to his wise leadership, the DPRK could demonstrate its might as a heroic Korea which defeated the U.S. imperialism that boasted of being "the strongest" in the world, Chollima Korea independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, and the most advantageous socialist country centered on the popular masses.

Chairman Kim Jong Il opened up a new chapter in building a powerful socialist state to put the dignity and might of the DPRK on the highest level.

In particular, in the period when the Korean revolution faced the most severe ordeals, he smashed the vicious anti-DPRK moves of the imperialist allied forces and reliably defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country and the destiny of the people and remarkably enhanced the international position and influence of the DPRK.

It is thanks to his energetic leadership that the political and military might of the country was consolidated in every way despite the worst adversity and a solid foundation was laid for the economic construction and the improvement of people's living standard amid the flames of a new great revolutionary upsurge.

Today the cause of building a socialist state centered on the popular masses has entered a new stage of development under the guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

He set forth great fighting programmes for the prosperity and development of the state and the realization of the people's ideals and is ushering in a golden age in all fields of state building with his seasoned and experienced leadership.

The proud reality, in which the era of our state-first principle, a new era of self-respect and prosperity, is ushered in the new century of Juche and the people are full of pride as masters of a powerful country, is a precious fruition of his patriotic intention and will.
