Invited to the reception were the Chinese party and government delegation led by Liu Guozhong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice-premier of the State Council of China, and Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK and his embassy members.

Attending there were Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, Mun Song Hyok, vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, Pak Myong Ho, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Ryu Un Hae, vice-minister of External Economic Relations, Pak Kyong Il, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is chairman of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, and officials concerned.

Kim Song Ryong, vice-premier of the Cabinet, made a speech there.

Noting that President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, together with the leaders of elder generations of China, provided the history and tradition of friendship between the two countries, he expressed the will to further develop the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, which have reached a new high stage under the direct care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and respected Comrade Xi Jinping, in keeping with the requirement of the times and the common desire of the two peoples.

He hoped that the Chinese people would achieve greater success in the course for the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics and prosperity of the Chinese nation by carrying out the tasks set forth at the 20th CPC Congress.

Next, Liu Guozhong made a speech.

Extending the warm congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Chinese party, government and people to the Korean party, government and people on the 75th founding anniversary of the DPRK, he noted that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un met and had a warm and friendly talk with the Chinese delegation.

It is the steadfast stand of the Chinese party and government to carry forward and develop the traditional China-DPRK friendship, a precious common asset provided with blood, no matter how the international and regional situation may change, he said, expressing the willingness of the Chinese side to defend and consolidate the friendly and cooperative relations with credit through the implementation of the important common understanding reached by the top leaders of the two countries and to contribute to bringing more wellbeing to the peoples of the two countries and promoting the regional peace and prosperity.

The reception proceeded in a comradely and amicable atmosphere.
