75th Birthday of DPRK Marked
Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- All the people in the DPRK significantly celebrated the 75th birthday of the DPRK as an all-people holiday.

They paid the highest tribute to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, founder and builder of the dignified DPRK.

Citizens visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where the President and the Chairman lie in state. They recollected the immortal exploits of the peerlessly great men who glorified the DPRK as the homeland of the great Juche idea and a powerful country independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, in deep reverence for the great leaders.

Officials, working people, service personnel and schoolchildren visited the statues of the great leaders, portraits of their smiling images and mosaics depicting the images of the peerlessly great men on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country to pay floral tribute to them.

Many people visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri, the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery and other martyrs cemeteries, memorial towers for the fallen soldiers of the Korean People's Army and martyrs graves in different parts of the country.

There took place ceremonies of hoisting the national flag throughout the country.

Working people, youth and students visited the national photo exhibition, the national art exhibition and other exhibition venues in different parts of the country to celebrate the 75th birthday of the DPRK.

Working people's organizations across the country held meetings to hear stories of the virtues of the great leaders, and celebration meetings and oratorical meetings, and colorful performances were given in the capital city of Pyongyang and the provinces.

There took place a women's football match between the Taedonggang Team and the Ryongaksan Team at the Kim Il Sung Stadium and sports and amusement games in different parts of the country.

Dancing parties of youths and women's union members revved up the festive mood, and the public catering and public service establishments across the country were crowded with people.

Many people spent a pleasant time at cultural and leisure facilities across the country, including the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum and the Munsu Water Park.
