Officials of the Party, government and the military enjoyed the performance together with artistes in Pyongyang Municipality.

Staff members of the Russian embassy here were invited to the performance.

Put on the stage were such colorful numbers as wartime songs, military songs, folk songs and dances showing the ardent patriotism, optimistic life and national customs of the Russian army and people.

Through such numbers as "Righteous War", "Only Victory" and "Day of Victory" well known to the Korean people, the performers clearly represented the patriotic spirit and militant mettle of the Russian army and people who displayed matchless heroism and stubbornness in the decisive battle to defend the beloved country from the invasion of fascism during the past Great Patriotic War.

"Cavalry Dance of Cossack", "Spring of 1945", "Russian Dance" and other dances were also acclaimed for their lilting melody, vigorous and nimble rhythms and refined artistry.

The audience were deeply impressed by the Korean song "The Hero Was Eighteen Years Old" and "My Home Village" sung by the performers with the feelings of friendship between the DPRK and Russia.

The performance ended with mixed chorus and orchestra "Our Friendship Will Be Immortal" and "The Evening in the Suburbs of Moscow".

The refined and impassioned performance, which clearly showed the appearance of the prestigious art troupe of Russia, won great admiration of the audience.

Floral baskets in the names of the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK and the Russian embassy here were conveyed to the performers.

The performance, given by the Russian Army Academic Song and Dance Ensemble in Pyongyang in celebration of the 75th birthday of the DPRK, serves as a significant occasion in showing the ties and solidity of the DPRK-Russia friendship which is developing day by day in the struggle for independence against imperialism.
