Present there on invitation were Li Hongzhong, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China who is member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Communist Party of China, and officials of relevant organs of China, including the Chinese National People's Congress, the Foreign Ministry, the International Liaison Department of the C.C., Communist Party of China and the Central Military Commission, and diplomatic envoys and military attaches of different countries to China.

DPRK Ambassador to China Ri Ryong Nam and his embassy officials were on hand.

Ri Ryong Nam said in his speech that the founding of the DPRK brought about a radical turn in carving out the destiny of the Korean people and provided a powerful political weapon for the victorious advance of the revolution and construction.

The DPRK, which provided the strongest absolute and matchless strength under the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, has reliably defended peace of the Korean peninsula and the world, frustrating the hostile forces' moves for a war, he noted.

He expressed the will to further develop the traditional DPRK-China friendship with socialism as its core and thus actively promote the socialist construction of the two countries.

Li Hongzhong said in his speech that the Korean people opened a new chapter in socialist construction after the founding of the DPRK, taking the destiny of the country and nation in their hands.

China sincerely wishes the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people steady, fresh and bigger successes in all sectors of socialist construction under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Un, he said.

He expressed the steadfast stand of the Chinese party and government to protect and consolidate the China-DPRK relations with credit, no matter how the international and regional situation may change.

Meanwhile, the DPRK consulate general in Shenyang of China and its Dandong branch hosted receptions in celebration of the national day.
