Primary and middle schools in the municipality made the pupils who set examples in study and organizational life of the Children's Union hoist national flag, thus making the national flag hoisting ceremony serve as an occasion for education in patriotism.

The children's union organizations of Kim Song Ju Primary School and Pothonggang Primary School in Pothonggang District organize a book reading and composition reading while educating children through the revolutionary leadership diary of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Sanghung Primary School in Sosong District planted national flowers and national trees and made sculptures depicting the national bird and the national dog in the campus, thus helping students consolidate their knowledge of the state symbols.

Okryu Primary School in Taedonggang District and Ryongwang Senior Middle School in Central District conduct the education in patriotism through the dissemination of songs such as "Patriotic Song" and "Our National Flag" and use of education data cards on patriotism through the education hours before school.
