Visiting the Pyongyang Floriculture Institute with increased capacity on September 21, Juche 101 (2012), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un indicated the tasks and ways for bringing about a radical development in the research and production of floriculture.

Over the past ten-odd years, the officials and employees of the institute have further cemented the scientific and technological foundation for the production of flowering plants and registered one hundred and tens of new species as national varieties.

They have promoted the work to rear species of flowering plants with a long duration and strong vitality. This year alone, ten species were registered as national strains.

Flowers cultivated by the institute are supplied to flower shops and stands in the capital city of Pyongyang, adding to the beauty of streets.
