The university is associated with the sacred leadership of the peerlessly great persons who attached great importance to the university and put forward it as a leading coach and locomotive powerfully propelling the country's development of science and technology and economic construction, a revolutionary university which produces the motive force of the Korean revolution and the one of leading universities of the country.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the university on September 28, Juche 107 (2018) on the occasion of its 70th founding anniversary and set forth the important tasks for the university to defend the Party and the revolution with proud successes in sci-tech research and training of talents.

The university has produced over 190 October 8 Model Professors and 730-odd winners of university student scientific research prize over the past five years, contributing to training talents and developing the country's economy with lots of scientific research achievements.
