Kang Hyon Gyong came first in the women's weightlifting 55kg category on September 30, with lift of 103 kg in snatch and 130 kg in jerk, 233 kg in total, renewing the world and Asian records as well as the Asian Games records.

Ri Song Gum took the first place in the 49kg category with lift of 92 kg in snatch and 124 kg in jerk, 216 kg in total (new world record, new Asian record and new Asian Games record).

Meanwhile, Kim Son Hyang and Ri Su Yon of the DPRK came second respectively in the women's floor exercises of the artistic gymnastics and in the women's weightlifting 55kg category.
