Kim Il Gyong came first in the women's weightlifting 59kg category on Monday, with lift of 111kg in snatch (new world record, new Asian record, new Asian Games record, new world youth record and new Asian youth record) and 135kg in jerk (new Asian Games record, new world youth record and new Asian youth record), 246kg in total (new Asian Games record, new world youth record and new Asian youth record).

Rim Un Sim took the first place in the women's weightlifting 64kg category, with lift of 111kg in snatch and 140kg in jerk, 251kg in total, renewing the records of the Asian Games respectively.

On the same day, Cha Su Yong and Pak Su Gyong won silver medals in the women's doubles at table tennis event.

The DPRK team beat its Indian rival 96:57 in the women's basketball event and advanced into the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Pak Myong Jin and Ri Won Ju placed second in men's weightlifting 61kg and 67kg categories respectively and Kim Chung Guk third in men's weightlifting 61kg category.
