Scientific Research into Improvement of Nutritive Foodstuffs Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- The Food and Consumer Goods Research Institute under the Ministry of Regional Industry of the DPRK has made achievements in scientific research to make a substantial contribution to implementing the Workers' Party of Korea's childcare policy.

Its food research institute has newly developed various kinds of nutritive foodstuffs on the basis of the standard for nourishing children at nurseries and kindergartens in close connection with relevant units.

The research group disseminated technical specification on the production method of milk powder with improved quality and longer expiry date across the country and wrote a data book on milk processing technology.

The work for standardizing milk powder production equipment and products is being pushed forward at the final stage thanks to the efforts of researchers.

The institute laid a scientific and technological foundation for producing quality nutritive foodstuffs with dried kelp to nourish children scientifically.

Officials and researchers of the Fermentation Research Institute are achieving successes in the research by directing efforts to developing new lactic acid bacteria.
