Sculpture and Craftwork Festival Opens in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- The 4th National Sculpture and Craftwork Festival opened in the DPRK to celebrate the 78th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

On display at the venue of the festival are more than 300 pieces of sculptures and craftworks with diverse themes and forms of over 30 kinds created by sculptors, craftsmen, fans and students from across the country.

An opening ceremony took place at the Pyongyang International House of Culture on Thursday.

Present there were Choe Chang Hak, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee, officials of ministries, national institutions and fine art field, creators, working people and school youth and children in Pyongyang.

Pak Kyong Chol, vice-minister of Culture, made an opening address.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round the venue of the festival.
