Thanks to the high enthusiasm and efforts of officials, scientists and technicians at various ministries, national institutions, scientific research units, universities and industrial establishments, lots of state sci-tech development plans have been completed or carried out at the final stage.

The Agricultural Commission, the State Academy of Sciences and some universities of the Education Commission completed designs and making of prototypes of more than 10 kinds of farm machines.

The Ministry of Machine-building Industry established a grinding process capable of ensuring high precision of major parts, in cooperation with Kim Chaek University of Technology and other units, and finished the development of 10-odd kinds of bearings.

Kim Il Sung University, the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, the State Academy of Sciences and other units have carried out their tasks in a responsible manner, mindful of the importance of the work to map out a general plan for canal connecting the east and west seas, and thus the implementation of the task for the state major project for the development of science and technology is in final stage.

The Ministry of Urban Management and the Ministry of Electric Power Industry completed making of technical assignment document on the integrated management system necessary for putting the production and supply of domestic water on a scientific and IT basis and developed various systems and programs to carry out the quarterly plan.
