In the message, the Syrian president extended congratulations to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and to the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), all the Party members and the people of the DPRK on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the WPK.

The Workers' Party of Korea has wisely led the Korean people in the course of the struggle to consolidate the national independence and build socialism, thus enabling the country to overcome difficulties and challenges and achieve development and successes in various fields, the message said, adding:

Today the world is facing unprecedented great changes.

Syria will consolidate and develop the historic bilateral relations of friendship, always together with the DPRK, in conformity with the common interests of the friendly peoples of the two countries.
