Premier Kim Tok Hun Inspects Various Units
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected units in the field of electric power and coal industries in the western region.

Kim Tok Hun visited the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, the leading power production base of the country, to learn in detail about the power production. The workers of the complex are strive to increase production to thoroughly implement the resolutions of the plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee and glorify this significant year as a year of great change and leap forward.

Referring to the importance of increasing the production of electricity, the main power of the economy, in attaining this year's goals for struggle, he called on all sectors and units of the national economy to successfully conclude this year's struggle with stable and sustained production growth.

To this end, he said that they should regard science and technology as the lifeline of the development of units and further enhance the responsibility and role of the workers and technicians to steadily raise the scientific level of the operation of the power station and thoroughly implement this year's plan for maintenance and reinforcement.

Learning about the production of the Jenam Coal Mine in the Tokchon area and the Inpho Youth Coal Mine in the Pukchang area, he stressed the need for officials to explore and apply effective management methods on the basis of the economic policy of the Party and the state and pay deep attention to ensuring the working and living conditions of coal miners and put the coal production on a normal footing.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of fulfilling the monthly plan without fail by more strictly establishing the discipline in implementing the national economic plan, the issue of securing enough coal for the production of electricity in winter in close contact with relevant units and the issue of fully supplying equipment and materials needed for the operation of coal mines.
