A large number of people gathered at the square of the capital city where the flag of the DPRK would fly high.

The bell rang out at 00:00 on October 10, and the melody of the immortal revolutionary hymns "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il" resounded forth.

Then, a worker, a peasant and an intellectual respectfully hoisted the national flag amid the solemn playing of the DPRK national anthem.

The masses paid high tribute to the national flag which the Korean people have defended as their lives for decades and glorified generation after generation and to the flag, the dignity, life and bright future of all of them.

Various fireworks were displayed in the nocturnal sky of the capital city to celebrate the significant October holiday.
