The DIU was the first revolutionary youth organization in Korea, formed with young people of a new generation aspiring after socialism and communism to achieve the national liberation and class liberation in the idea of independence against imperialism.

Its members, who declared the solemn start of the Juche revolution with the formation of the DIU, are the pride and glory of the Korean people and the pioneers who started the history of genuine unity and cohesion, the source of inexhaustible strength, and made at the cost of blood a new history of unity and cohesion in the communist movement of Korea in which the single-minded unity was achieved between the leader and the masses.

It is the greatest feat of the first members of the DIU that they held the President in high esteem as the morning star and the sun of the nation brilliantly shining the whole areas of Korea and as the center of unity at the dawn of the Korean revolution.

The noble and beautiful soul of the first generation of the Korean revolution, who put forward the leader and rallied closely around him, has become a great tradition of unity and cohesion the Workers' Party of Korea now calls single-minded unity.

With this tradition, the Korean people won one victory after another in the two revolutionary wars and in the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. confrontation without gunfire and have made a brilliant history of building a thriving country despite all sorts of ordeals and difficulties.

Today the younger generations of the DPRK are glorifying this great tradition, provided by the ardent revolutionaries of the DIU, and dynamically advancing toward the victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche, rallied close around the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
