The aim of the exhibition, held under the theme of "Positive spread and broad exchange of advanced science and technology", is to more widely and positively propagate, exchange and circulate the advanced science and technology and products so as to arouse the public interest and encourage their development and introduction.

On display there are achievements made in the development and introduction of advanced science and technology and many products presented by more than 300 units in the fields of IT industry, metal, chemistry, machinery, agriculture, electric power and energy industries, light industry and public health.

During the exhibition, there will take place dissemination, exchange and sale of exhibits.

Present at the opening ceremony were Choe Tong Myong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and officials and working people of the exhibiting units.

Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk made an opening address.
