Wreaths Laid at Friendship Tower
Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid at the Friendship Tower in the capital city of Pyongyang on Oct. 25, the 73rd anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) into the Korean front.

Attending the wreath-laying ceremony were Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), Mun Song Hyok, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), and officials concerned.

Also present were Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and members of the Chinese embassy here and Chinese guests staying here and residents in the DPRK.

Placed at the tower was a wreath in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the SPA Standing Committee of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK.

Also laid at the tower were wreaths in the names of the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of External Economic Relations and the Ministry of Culture, wreaths in the joint names of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the DPRK-China Friendship Association, the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK and the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee and a wreath in the name of the Chinese embassy.

The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of the CPV martyrs. Then they looked round the tower.

On the same day, wreaths were also placed at the cemeteries and graves of CPV fallen fighters in Hyongjesan District of Pyongyang Municipality, Anju City and Hoechang County of South Phyongan Province, Onsong County of North Hamgyong Province, and Kaesong Municipality.
