The factory is a wealth of the people provided under the energetic leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who has devoted himself to the steady improvement of the people's living standard.

One day in August Juche 108 (2019), the General Secretary told an official that a modern factory should be built to produce ice cream, a world-famous commodity.

He named it "Taesongsan Ice Cream Factory" and chose its site at the foot of Mt Taesong. And he indicated in detail all the issues arising in the construction of the factory.

He saw to it that the construction of the factory was adopted as a resolution of the Party and pushed forward as a nationwide construction project at plenary meetings of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. And he gave instructions on completing the construction at an early date and making the citizens get benefit from it.

He took a special measure to propel the construction powerfully under the prolonged emergency anti-epidemic situation and even paid attention to the issues of production equipment, management and operation. Thanks to his meticulous guidance, a modern and cultured foodstuff production base could be successfully built in a short span of time.

The factory was inaugurated on October 26 last year.
