Ryo Kwang Min, manager of the factory, said in a report that with his insight into the importance of musical instrument production in the development of the country's music, President Kim Il Sung founded the State Musical Instrument Manufacturing Institute, the predecessor of the factory, on October 26, Juche 42 (1953) when the post-war reconstruction was at its height and sent discharged soldiers who had made front-line musical instruments before and musical instrument technologists across the country and even the production equipment to the factory.

The reporter noted that Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the factory several times and guided it to produce world-level musical instruments, saying that the manufacture of musical instruments is one of art.

He stressed that under the wise guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un paying deep attention to the development of the Juche-oriented musical instrument industry, the factory has entered a heyday of its development.

Over the past 70 years, the officials and employees of the factory have spruced it up and produced a lot of musical instruments with the single mind to add luster to the leadership exploits of the peerlessly great men and pushed ahead with the discovery of national musical instruments and improvement of them to make a positive contribution to the development of the country's music and art and the people's cultural and emotional life, he said.
