It was aimed to develop the equipment and materials necessary for the development of acoustic theory, architectural acoustics and artistic acoustics and thus raise the Korean-style acoustic science and technology to the advanced level.

Present there were scientists, technicians, teachers, researchers, postgraduates, students and others of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang University of Architecture, the State Academy of Sciences and other universities and institutes.

Presented to it were 40 valuable papers made in the course of studying acoustic equipment, materials and other things needed by various sectors of the national economy, education, culture and other units.

There was a seminar on the theme of "Use of local acoustic materials" aimed to improve the architectural acoustical performance and raise the level of design and construction of educational and cultural facilities by use of expansion vermiculite as a finishing material.
