Year-Plan for Cocoon Production Fulfilled in Jagang Province

| Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Officials and working people in the sericulture sector of Jagang Province of the DPRK carried out their yearly cocoon production plan at 103 percent and increased the production of cocoons by scores of tons over last year. The province has promptly solved the problems arising in introducing advanced silkworm raising methods while taking measures to increase the production of mulberry leaves and supply disinfectants in good time. Meanwhile, it has pushed ahead with the work to consolidate the material foundation including building standardized silkworm rearing rooms. Several farms in Songgan County have concentrated efforts on the production of mulberry leaves and managed silkworms in a meticulous way, thus fulfilling their cocoon production plans at 129 percent. Similar achievements have been witnessed in Sijung, Janggang, Hyangsan, Chosan, Wiwon and Ryongrim counties and Manpho City. |
