More Silk Fabrics Increased in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The Sericulture and Silk Industrial Bureau in the DPRK strives to increase the production of quality silk fabrics.

The bureau is directing efforts to improving the quality and productivity of silk fabrics by developing textile technology for production of silk fabrics and updating and maintaining reeling and silk weaving machines.

It has paid big efforts to generalizing the experience gained at the Kangso Silk Mill to other silk mills across the country and scientifically identifying factors having effect on the quality of silk fabrics.

It is directing efforts to replacing the automatic reeling machines of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill, the Hamhung Silk Mill and the Songchon Silk Mill with those of good-performance.

It is pushing ahead with the work for building a base specializing in dyeing silk fabrics at the Anju Silk Mill and speeding up the recovery of the original performance and the maintenance of weaving machines at the silk mills across the country.

The Nyongbyon Silk Mill, the Phalwon Silk Mill and other silk mills are pushing ahead with the work for improving the processing technology of silk fabrics and developing new products.
