According to data available, the electric power industry raised the electricity output by 112 percent as compared with the same period of last year and substantial progress was made in implementing the readjustment and reinforcement strategy to provide a guarantee for stable and sustained growth of electricity production.

The Ministry of Electric Power Industry has directed big efforts to attaining the goal of electric power production and conducted the operation and command in a scrupulous manner, thus making all power-generating units fulfill their national economic plans monthly and quarterly.

The Pyongyang Municipal Power Distribution Station secured electricity reserves of tens of thousands of kilowatts by technically upgrading large-sized power equipment. And the power distribution sector has taken thorough measures to improve and reinforce substations and transmission lines and protect them from the disastrous abnormal weather.
