Present there were Jo Kyong Jun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim In Bom, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Art and Literature of Korea, Sok Nam Chol, chief secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, officials concerned, creators, artistes, teachers, researchers and students.

The seminar heard papers deeply explaining and proving the validity and vitality of the Party's idea of attaching importance to national music.

Speakers said that the work published by Kim Jong Il on November 13, Juche 82 (1993) is an important guideline that opened up a new turning point in the development of national music.

They said that Kim Jong Il's famous work clearly indicates the principled issues and ways for further developing national music.

Speakers said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un further developed in depth Kim Jong Il's idea and theory on developing national music in keeping with modern tastes and thus newly clarified the idea of attaching importance to national music to be held fast to in the field of music art in the new century.

They called for preserving and glorifying the tradition of national art and its excellence by thoroughly applying the Party's idea of attaching importance to national music and thus ushering in a new heyday of national music.
