National Music Presentation of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music and Dance Held

Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- A national music presentation of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music and Dance took place at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Sunday to mark the 30th anniversary of the publication of Chairman Kim Jong Il's famous work "On Developing Traditional Music in Keeping with Modern Tastes".

Students of the university presented a new world of national music with artistic skills they have acquired through strenuous efforts and training.

The numbers put on the stage included traditional woodwind quartet "Song of New Spring", kayagum ensemble "Chollima Gallops Forward", female folksong solo "The Girl on the Swing".

The numbers added to the national emotion and flavor.

The presentation well showed the development of national music which is developing day by day.

Among the audience were Jo Kyong Jun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim In Bom, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Art and Literature of Korea, officials concerned, creators, artistes, teachers, researchers and students.
