Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- People in the Komdok area, a leading large-scale mineral production base in the DPRK, moved into new houses. The plan of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to successfully turn the area into a great mining city is being translated into a reality. More than 1 400 single-, low- and multi-storied dwelling houses were built in Tonsan- and Kumsan-dongs of Tanchon City to add to the people's joy. The service personnel, involved in the construction of the mine city, displayed patriotism and enthusiasm in their drive for turning the area into a fairyland of the new era. There were ceremonies for granting new houses on the spots on November 15. Present there were Kim Yong Sik, chairman of the South Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee, officials and workers of the General Bureau of the Tanchon Area Mining Industry and the Ryongyang Mine and inhabitants of the Tonsan- and Kumsan-dongs. Licenses for the use of houses were handed over. Then people began to move into new houses amid cheerful dances and happy laughter. Officials visited the houses to congratulate the families and share happiness. |
