In this world, there is no more sacred and precious call than a mother. The mothers' selfless devotion and unbounded love serve as a basis for the sound growth of their children, a nutrient for the happiness of their families and a tonic for promoting the harmony and unity of society.

Remarkably recorded in the long development course of the DPRK are the feats of our mothers who have devoted themselves to the country and the rising generations. Our mothers played a very important role in the fierce Fatherland Liberation War, the postwar reconstruction, the social revolution of two stages and socialist construction of several stages, and their noble mental world has become a model of our revolutionary ranks.

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il unfolded the noble world of attaching importance to the women and respecting them, and had meticulously guided them to fulfill their responsibility and duty in the education of their children and socialist construction.
