The contest brought together more than 300 publications distribution officials and members selected from each province. It was held, divided into group and individual contests.

Highly appreciated in the group contest were the Tonghungsan District Publications Distribution Office in Hamhung City of South Hamgyong Province, the Sosong District Publications Distribution Office in Pyongyang Municipality, and in the individual contest was Kim Ok Byol, a distributor of the Anbyon County Publications Distribution Office in Kangwon Province.

The contest served as an important occasion in making all the officials, Party members and other working people grasp the greatness of the Workers' Party of Korea and enhancing the efficiency of ideological work to stir up the revolutionary and patriotic enthusiasm of the masses out in the struggle to implement the resolutions of the Eighth Congress of the Party and the plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee.
