Election of Deputies to Regional People's Assemblies Begins in DPRK

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The election of deputies to the provincial (municipal), city (district) and county people's assemblies is taking place in the DPRK. The election serves as an important occasion for making stronger the popular character of the country in which the people strongly support their power by themselves.

The election began simultaneously at all polling booths across the country at 10:00 on Sunday morning.

According to data available at the central election guidance committee as of 12:00, 47.81 percent of the voters registered on the voter rolls have cast their votes.
