In recent years, several potato foods were registered as "February 2 goods" and the public demands for processed potato foods are growing day by day.

The factory is associated with the immortal feats of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has worked hard to make the people's diet abundant and diverse.

During his field guidance to various sectors of the Samjiyon County in November Juche 105 (2016), he personally initiated the construction of the factory and resolved all the problems arising in the project, ranging from designing and construction to supply of materials and equipment.

In December 2017 he visited the factory and gave an instruction to install more production equipment to produce various foods such as potato farina and noodles and make them specialties of Samjiyon County.

Later, he visited the factory several times to give important instructions for its development.

True to his instructions, the officials and employees of the factory established more production potato processing lines and settled the sci-tech problems arising in preserving the taste and color peculiar to potato foods and improving their quality.
