Ri Su Yon lifted a total of 210 kg in the women's 55 kg category competition held on December 6, with 94 kg in the snatch and 116 kg in the jerk. So she won gold medals in the snatch and in total standings and a silver medal in the jerk.

In the men's 61 kg category, Pak Myong Jin snatched 134 kg and jerked 171 kg for a two-lift total of 305 kg. So he bagged gold medals in the jerk and in total and a bronze medal in the snatch.

DPRK's Kang Hyon Gyong took a gold medal in the jerk for the women's 55 kg category.
