The completion of the power station laid another foundation for more satisfactorily solving the problem of electricity needed for the development of regional industry and the improvement of people's living standard.

Its inaugural ceremony took place on the spot on Thursday.

Present there were Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials and working people in the province and builders and employees of the power station.

Ri Song Ho, vice-chairman of the provincial people's committee, made an inaugural address.
