December 17 is the greatest memorial day of the nation when we pay high tribute to Chairman Kim Jong Il who devoted his all to the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people, and the day of solemn pledge when we harden our strong will to remain more faithful to the idea and leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, says Rodong Sinmun in an editorial, and goes on:

Kim Jong Il, who set it as his lifelong mission to carry forward and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung generation after generation, had performed immortal exploits in the history of the Korean revolution with his outstanding idea and rare leadership throughout his revolutionary life.

He gave scientific answers to all the theoretical and practical issues arising in building a thriving nation through his tireless thinking and study.

He achieved the harmonious whole of the Party and the people with benevolent politics and all-embracing politics and thus consolidated the single-minded unity, the most powerful strength of the DPRK, as firm as a rock.

In his life time, he told the officials, Party members and other working people in the country with conviction that the Korean revolution and socialism remain unfazed and the future of the country is very bright and rosy thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Un.

All the people should never forget even a moment the precious teachings of Kim Jong Il and dynamically usher in a new era of overall state prosperity, true to the idea and leadership of Kim Jong Un.
