The Korean people are still recollecting with deep emotion the patriotic devotion made by Kim Jong Il to get the Juche-based fiber vinalon mass-produced and further develop the Korean-style vinalon industry as required by the new century.

He always attached great importance to the February 8 Vinalon Complex, which plays a big role in developing the country's economy and improving the people's living standard, and continued his field guidance for strengthening the vinalon industry.

Following Juche 98 (2009), he visited the complex again on a day of February, 2010. Seeing a pile of white vinalon cotton at a shop of the factory, he said that he desired to see vinalon produced at the complex and that he was very pleased to see the cascades of vinalon there. And he stressed with great satisfaction that the start of mass production of vinalon was an auspicious event to the whole country as another great victory achieved by the Korean people.

In August and October 2011, the last period of his life, he visited the complex and indicated the important tasks facing the complex, saying that its duty and role are very important as it is directly related to the people's living.

Officials and workers of the complex have made signal achievements in the production of vinalon and other various chemical goods in recent years by conducting an increased production drive, always bearing in mind the patriotic devotion of Kim Jong Il.
