A mass movement for growth of grain production was conducted across the country.

The South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the UAWK made sure that the farms applied enough quality organic fertilizer to all the fields, and that they finished preparations for farming more than ten days earlier than in the past.

The South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the UAWK organized a short-term socialist emulation for land improvement among cities, counties and farms to fertilize hundreds of hectares of fields in over 40 days.

The North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the UAWK attached importance to the work to secure small and medium farm implements, encouraged the city and county UAWK organizations to provide more than 1.3 million farm implements of 25 kinds as compared with last year.

A mass movement was launched to increase the proportion of the farm work done by machines.

Officials of primary committees of the UAWK and its members in cities and counties, including Yonthan County of North Hwanghae Province, repaired and maintained more than 430 tractors and over 520 threshers by themselves to help finish the last farm work this year.

This year, 180 city, county and district farm machine stations made achievements in the production of accessories and manufactured new farm machines and sent them to farms.

Meanwhile, proactive mass movements are being conducted in other fields including irrigation, fruit culture, stockbreeding and greenhouse vegetable.
