A meeting of officials of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee for praying for immortality to Kim Jong Il took place at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on Dec. 15.

Present there were Chairman Ho Jong Man, First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organizational Department Pak Ku Ho, Vice-Chairman Nam Sung U, Vice-Chairman and Director General of the General Affairs Department Pae Jin Gu, Vice-Chairman Jo Il Yon, Vice-Chairman and Director of the Education Department Song Kun Hak and Vice-Chairman and Director of the Department for International Affairs and Reunification So Chung On of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Ri Myong Yu, chairman of the Chongryon Central Audit Committee, department directors and officials of the Central Standing Committee.

Ho Jong Man and Pak Ku Ho laid a floral basket before the portrait of smiling Chairman Kim Jong Il.

All the participants paid tribute to Chairman Kim Jong Il, praying for his immortality.

Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, Ri Song Chol, chairman of the Central Standing Council of the Korean Educational Association in Japan, and other officials of the Korean Youth League in Japan, the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, the Union of Korean Teachers and School Clerks in Japan, the Korean Educational Association in Japan, the Korean Health Workers Association in Japan, the Union of Korean Students in Japan and the Korean Youth Publication laid bouquets before the portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to him.

Screened at the Korean Hall on Dec. 16 was "Lifetime of Love for People", part 1 of documentary film "General Kim Jong Il, Peerless Patriot".

Memorial events were held by the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters and other prefectural headquarters and their chapters and institutions at all levels of Chongryon.
