Chairman Kim Jong Il Remembered Abroad
Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- Memorial meetings took place in Myanmar, Syria, Pakistan, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Tajikistan, Equatorial Guinea, Mexico and Peru from December 8 to 17 on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Speeches were made at the meetings.

A member of the Central Executive Committee of the Myanmar Journalist Association said that HE Kim Jong Il, eternal leader of the Korean people, is boundlessly revered by the world progressives for his distinguished feats in the history of human thought and the cause of independence against imperialism, paying high tribute to him who laid a solid foundation for the powerful DPRK.

The chairman of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway, the chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, the chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association and the international secretary of the Finnish Communists' League stressed that Kim Jong Il is the peerless patriot, genuine revolutionary and prominent leader of the cause of global independence as he led the struggle for defending socialism to victory under the uplifted banner of Songun in the grim period of trials.

A senator of Pakistan and the curator of "Kim Jong Suk Library" in Peru said that HE Kim Jong Il's career and exploits would be always remembered by all people and his sacred august name would shine long century after century.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico and the president of the General Union of the Peasants of Syria talked about the sacred revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il, lauding the eye-opening successes the DPRK has recently made in the struggle for bolstering up the military capability for self-defence and in the economic construction under the guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

Messages to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un were adopted at the memorial meetings in Denmark and Sweden.
