The observatory has meteorological marine forecast room, marine observation room, information service room and meteorological observation ground equipped with various kinds of observation equipment and apparatuses. It will help put on a scientific basis of higher level the prediction and analysis of weather climate change.

The inauguration ceremony of the Rason Meteorological Observatory took place on the spot on Wednesday.

Present there were Choe Un Chol, secretary of the Rason Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, builders, employees of the observatory and working people in Rason Municipality.

Sin Chang Il, chairman of the Rason Municipal People's Committee, made an inauguration address.
