Women's Union Officials Start Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in DPRK
Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- Women's union officials across the DPRK launched a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.

A kick-off meeting of the expedition took place at the plaza before the statue of President Kim Il Sung at the Samjiyon Grand Monument on Thursday.

The participants laid bouquets at the statue of the President and paid tribute to him.

Ri Hyang Suk, vice-chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea, and others made speeches at the meeting.

Speakers said that, through their study tour, the women's union officials should more deeply grasp the revolutionary exploits of the peerlessly great persons associated with every revolutionary battle site and cherish the indomitable fighting spirit of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners.

They called for strikingly showing the noble mental world and traits of the women's union officials who reliably carry forward the spirit of Paektu, valuing even a tree and a blade of grass in the revolutionary battle sites as eternal treasures of the Korean revolution during the study tour.

They called upon all the women's union officials to bring about a great turn in the work for arming themselves with the revolutionary spirit through the dynamic march toward the battle sites of Mt Paektu and thus make a tangible contribution to the sacred patriotic struggle for ushering in a new era of national prosperity.

At the end of the meeting, the expedition members went round the Samjiyon Revolutionary Battle Site.
