Screened at the film shows were DPRK films dealing with the noble revolutionary career and exploits of the Chairman and video clips showing the magnificent scenery of Mt Paektu.

Personages from the Mongolian Mt Paektu Association, the International Taekwon-Do Association in Iran, the Thailand-DPRK Friendship Association, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Algeria-Korea Friendship Association said that the world progressives remember the great HE Kim Jong Il with deep reverence for him on the occasion of Dec. 17, the anniversary of his demise, recollecting with deep emotion the exploits he performed for the times and history.

The chairperson and members of the Ethiopian Committee for the Study of the Independent Politics recalled that HE Kim Jong Il is a veteran statesman in the world and great master of independent politics, adding that the DPRK was able to emerge victorious in a showdown with the U.S. as he directed primary efforts to bolstering up the military strength.

The secretary general of the Tanzanian National Coordinating Committee of the Juche Idea Study Groups noted that HE Kim Jong Il is alive in the hearts of world progressives for the gigantic achievements he performed for the times and history with his rare ideo-theoretical wisdom and remarkable leadership.

The chief of the Danish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea stressed that the Songun politics of the great Comrade Kim Jong Il made it possible for the Korean people to brave the gravest ordeals and trials and open up a broad avenue for building a powerful country.

A message to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un was adopted at the memorial service held in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, a joint memorial event was held in Venezuela to commemorate the 12th anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Il.
