The hydro-power station will contribute to resolving the shortage of electricity necessary for regional economic development and improvement of the people's livelihood by making more effective use of the source of water in the province.

An inauguration ceremony took place on December 23.

Present there was Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary for Organizational Affairs of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Also present there were Pak Hun, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the WPK, Ju Mun Jin, chairman of the Kangwon Provincial People's Committee, officials concerned, scientists, technicians and designers who contributed to the construction and employees of the power station.

So Jong Jin, minister of Construction and Building-Materials Industry, made an inauguration address.
