The Pyongyang Dental Hygiene Products Factory went into operation and the Pyongyang Pharmaceutical Factory, the Maebongsan Medical Supplies Factory, etc. were inaugurated. And the Central Disease Prevention and Control Centre was newly built.

Many projects of key importance in the development of socialist public health services are now nearing completion.

These remarkable successes are an outcome of the ardent love and great devotion of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who regards the people's health and life protection as the most important affair of the Party and the state.

The General Secretary set it as the eternal state policy of the DPRK to steadily strengthen the public health work, stressing that we should improve the socialist public health services, the work for the promotion and protection of people's health, at any cost and this is not only a political task facing the public health sector but also a requirement of the Korean revolution.

He, who makes no concessions or compromises in the work for the safety and life of the people, repeatedly convened meetings of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) to discuss the issues related to the people's life and security.

At the 8th WPK Congress, he gave instructions on completing the medical supplies factories, each to be built in the eastern and western parts of the country, as planned. And he took revolutionary measures for their completion several times.

At the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, he set it as a pressing task to put the public health sector on a normal track and high level. Thanks to his lofty intention and energetic leadership, large-scale work was conducted to improve the pharmaceutical and medical instrument industries.
